Senior Pastor

Rev. Stephen E. Wilson became Senior Pastor of the Wesleyan Church in Greeley, Colorado in November 1991.  Over the course of his ministry the church has grown from a congregation of 350 to a congregation with worship attendance in excess of 1800.  Under his leadership the church has successfully completed two major building projects; a $3.1 million dollar project in 1999 and a $6.2 million dollar project in 2006.  In 2004 Rev. Wilson designed a capital campaign that enabled the church to raise $3.5 million dollars (2x annual income) in cash and pledges for their most recent building project.

Rev. Wilson began his ministry in July of 1979.  Over the course of his 27 years in the ministry he has served as Senior Pastor of the West Golden Wesleyan Church (Mears, MI), the Kingston Wesleyan Church (Kingston, MI), the Grace Wesleyan Church (San Antonio, TX), and the SONlight Wesleyan Church (Bluffton, IN).  The churches that Rev. Wilson has pastored have ranged in size from 75 to 1800.  Under his leadership, every one of the churches that he pastored was able to grow and increase their effectiveness for the Kingdom of God.

In additional to his pastoral work, Rev. Wilson served as Director of Church & Public Relations and Director of Student Recruitment at United Wesleyan College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Rev. Wilson graduated from United Wesleyan College with a B.A. in Theology (1979).  Rev. Wilson continued his studies at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, where he majored in Christian Education (1984 program not completed).  Rev. Wilson recently completed his MML (Masters in Ministry Leadership) from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Rev. Wilson has a passion for: 1) teaching the Word of God, seeing people come to Christ and grow in their relationship with Christ; and 2) training and equipping leaders to more effectively serve God.  To that end, Rev. Wilson travels and speaks to Christian groups all over the country.  He is a frequent writer for The Wesleyan Publishing House in Indianapolis, IN.  He has written three workshops especially intended to help people grow in their relationship with Christ: First Steps (new believers), Next Steps (spiritual gifts and ministry placement), and His Steps (discovering God's will). In 2006 Pastor Steve's first book, Hello, My Name Is Steve, was published.

Rev. Wilson has served on the Board of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and is a current member of the Bethany Bible College school board.  Rev. Wilson serves as an adjunct Professor for Bethany Bible College.  Rev. Wilson has also served as the Asst. Superintendent for the Colorado/Nebraska District, he is currently a member of the District Board of Administration for that District.  In addition, Rev. Wilson is the chairman of the District Board of Ministerial Development.
