Building Fund

For the past fifty-eight years God’s blessings have been upon our church.  He has enlarged our family, facilities, and faith by leading us forward into His purpose and plan for our church.  What an awesome thing it was to celebrate what God has done through the faithfulness of His people … people like you who have generously shared His blessings on your life by giving to our building fund.

We believe, as great as the things that God has done are, there are even greater things that God has in store for us.  We are stewards of this great work … the men and women who serve and sacrifice now so that others may be able to look back in fifty years from now and celebrate the things God will have accomplished through our faithfulness.

In 2004 hundreds of people in our church joined together in making pledges to our church’s building fund.  To date, a little over $2.5 million has been paid toward those pledges with just under another $1 million yet to be paid.  In April of 2010 the “interest only” construction loan we have from Wesleyan Investment Foundation (WIF) will turn into a mortgage loan with a monthly mortgage payment.  The leadership of the church is already preparing for this eventuality.  Adjustments have been made to this year’s budget that will begin to position us for the day when all of our building fund pledges have been paid in full and the responsibility for making our mortgage payment rests solely upon monies received in our weekly tithes and offerings.

Would you be willing to prayerfully consider helping us?

Here’s how you can help us :  First, if you still owe money on the building fund pledge you made four years ago please make every effort to pay it in full.  There is still close to a million dollars of unpaid pledges to be collected … we’re counting on every one of those commitments to be kept.  Second, if you’ve already paid your pledge in full please prayerfully consider making an additional pledge … a two year pledge that will help us raise additional money between now and April of 2010.  Third, if you’re one of the many good friends who have given money without ever having made a pledge, please continue to help us by giving money toward our building fund … and if you’d be willing to use this form to indicate how much you believe God would enable you to give between now and April of 2010 that would be great.
(Note - Please return card to the church office or drop in the offering plate on Sunday.)
